Training philosophy

In the fitness world, there’s a fundamental truth: finding enjoyment is the secret ingredient for consistency. When workouts are enjoyable yet challenging, staying consistent becomes second nature. It’s not about going overboard but adopting a balanced and health-conscious approach. Give it your all, but remember, consistency trumps perfection. Let’s weave fitness seamlessly into daily life, making it a lifestyle, not a fleeting endeavour. By enjoying the process, we ensure that good health remains our lifelong companion.

Last May, I ruptured my Achilles tendon. I then spent three months in a boot. After these three months, I met Jordan. From day one, he listened to my needs. I didn’t want to build up my whole body for performance, but I wanted to regain the power I had in my left leg before my injury. He understood my needs and set up a programme to meet them. He first assessed my skills and then set goals. We spent two months together, meeting once a week, and I had two sessions on my own, which he took the time to prepare. During these two months, we talked a lot, he asked me about my pain, my fears of relapse and adapted his training to put me in the best possible conditions. In a few weeks, the results were significant. While I could not lift my heel during our first session, I could walk again without limping and then run and jump. Jordan adapted my program according to my progress and met the objectives we had set ourselves. At the end of these two months, although he was not obliged to, Jordan sent me videos and exercises to continue my preparation. Thanks to him, I am fully fit again and very grateful to him.

Through training with Jordan, I have reached new confidence levels in the gym, boxing, and in life that I never thought I could. He’s super fun to train with and checks in on me with any personal or physical issues I’ve encountered since I started. Before I started, I would only go on walks. Now, I go to the gym six times a week and boxing once a week regularly for the past three months. It’s created a massive change in my life and my mindset. I owe a huge part of that success to Jordan and always being my biggest hype man. I’m much more motivated and reach my PBs while training with Jordan because his encouragement makes me believe in myself.

In my limited experience with gyms, I have observed two broad types of trainers. Some trainers just tell you what to do while counting reps, and some coaches invest in your work and progress. Jordan is the latter. Jordan pushes me while respecting my boundaries and encourages me to keep going when I feel like I’m about to pass out. He can also explain the biomechanics of a movement to help me better execute my form - not something every trainer can do. If someone had told me I’d be lifting like this a few months ago, I wouldn’t have believed them. I would not have believed it if someone had told me I’d be checking myself out in a mirror with appreciation rather than horror. Jordan tracks my progress and celebrates my little wins even when I’m too breathless to join in. He’s like a little mini cheer squad. To someone like me who finds the gym intimidating, a trainer who puts the “personal” in Personal Trainer is an asset.
